Jakob 'S GOAL
– My goal for Runfest is to create an event that brings together everyone who shares a passion for running, from beginners to champions.
This is a dream that my brothers and I have had for a long time. Runfest should be a celebration of the joy of running, both for young and old. It will be a street run festival and a community festival where the world’s best runners are part of the show, but where everyone can participate—both recreational runners and those with lots of experience. Running has given me so much, and I hope we can create a race in Sandnes that runners from all over the world talk about and want to be part of, and that can motivate even more people to lace up their running shoes in the coming years

HIGHLIGHTS

Runfest will offer a wide range of activities designed to celebrate running and promote community, health, and fun for all ages and abilities.
  • Races for all levels: We offer distances of 1500 m, 5 km, 10km and 21km

On the 5 and 10 km you can choose whether you want to betimed or not. Not everyone cares about their time – for many, it’s about crossing the finish line.

This also means that everyone can take part, regardless of age and level. If you prefer walking instead of running, that is absolutely fine.

The Formula 1 distance is 1500 m, featuring some of the best runners on the start line. That race takes place on Friday 2October, with the other races on Saturday 3 October. Many of them will also participate on Saturday.

School classes, companies, recreational runners and paraathletes – everyone is warmly welcome.

No matter your experience, background or physical condition, you can join. This is meant to be fun and at the same time give you a positive challenge.
  • Runfest Summit™ takes place on 1 October.

The goal is for the conference to become an annual national meeting place where businesses, the public sector, academia and sport come together to discuss and develop public health initiatives that improve physicaland mental health.

How can physical activity be used as a tool for social inclusion, integration and substance abuse prevention?

We aim to present concrete examples from municipalities, workplaces and sports clubs.

In the evening, the goal is to fill Sandnes’ venues with a rich selection of talks and debates on public health, training, equipment and other related topics.

The person with academic responsibility for the conference is “Norway’s PT”, Yngvar Andersen.
  • School and Activity Day

Primary schools in Sandnes focus on community, inclusion and friendship.

Together with them and other contributors and partners, wewill on 2 October create an event under the banner “Community in Motion”.

The goal of this day is not to run the fastest, but to be active together, cheer for each other and make room for everyone – regardless of level and abilities.
  • Inspired, motivated and drawing on experience from the Blinkfestivalen we want to create a road running festival that will also attract a large audience.

We have many ideas and plans, and we look forward to they ears ahead, where we together with participants, spectators and partners we will gradually develop our festival

Runfest. 2026 will be the first year in the series. Our goal is foras many people as possible to come to Sandnes city centre, enjoy greatexperiences, and of course cheer on everyone who will be active during thethree days of the festival.
